The Opportunity:
Allied Sports is looking for a Manager of Human Resources to join our fast-growing company. This generalist position will be a dedicated HR resource for Allied Sports, working in close coordination with the established HR team at our sister company, Allied Global Marketing, to develop and execute HR processes specific to Allied Sports. The Manager will report to the VP of HR (Allied Global Marketing) and to the VP of Finance (Allied Sports).
The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who is ready to grow their HR career. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on the employee experience and help the business meet its goals by maintaining existing processes as well as proposing and implementing new ones.
Responsibilities:
- Talent Acquisition. Perform full-cycle recruiting, including creating job descriptions, posting jobs, reviewing applications, conducting candidate phone screens, and coordinating and scheduling interviews.
- Hiring/Onboarding. Create offer letters, extend offers, conduct employment eligibility verifications and background checks, coordinate with IT on equipment provisioning; develop and conduct new hire orientation.
- Policies & Compliance. Review and update existing HR processes and policies to strategically support talent management and company goals; maintain the employee handbook while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations; comply with occupational health and safety requirements.
- Offboarding. Track and notify internal teams about offboarding needs and conduct exit interviews.
- Benefits. Collaborate with the HR team to administer employee benefit programs; be the first point of contact to answer general benefits questions for Allied Sports employees.
- Culture and Engagement. Organize company social/team-building events, lead community engagement initiatives, and champion company DEIB and employee recognition initiatives.
- Employee Relations. Handle employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate person; Liaise with the VP of HR on sensitive employee relations matters such as disciplinary action, terminations, and investigations.
- Performance Management. Coordinate the annual performance evaluation process and assist with aligning performance management processes with department and company goals.
- Compensation. Develop salary band structure; conduct non-salary incentive research (education reimbursement, 401K match, networking support, etc.)
- Training and Development. Collaborate on training and career development initiatives.
- Leaves of Absence. Coordinate with employees and internal teams (e.g. payroll) on leaves of absence, including tracking leaves, answering questions, and coordinating benefits.
- Administration. Liaise with the IT department on employee technology needs/issues; Assist with office management (such as managing deliveries) as needed.
- Perform other duties and participate in HR projects as needed/assigned.
The position of HR Manager may be client-facing, so candidate will be expected to maintain an in-depth understanding of clients’ businesses and forge partnerships with client-side counterparts when appropriate.
Qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience in human resources management, including recruiting.
- Familiar with HR best practices and processes and employment laws and regulations.
- Located within commuting distance of our New York City office.
- Experience working at an advertising/marketing agency preferred.
- Experience working with applicant tracking and/or human resources management systems; experience working Greenhouse (ATS) and UKG (HRIS/Payroll) preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
- Ability to work autonomously and as a team.
- Comfortable working with various systems/solutions (i.e. Microsoft Office Suite, HRIS, etc.).
Details:
- The salary range for this position is $70,000-90,000/year depending on experience.This represents the salary range that Allied Sports, in good faith, might be willing to pay for this job at the time of this posting. Actual base salary depends on several factors, including market dynamics, location and region, experience, specialized skills/training (education), and level of responsibility. Allied Sports expects to hire for this position near the middle of the range. Allied Sports would consider paying a salary or rate near the higher end of the range only in truly exceptional circumstances, where an external candidate has experience, credentials, or expertise that far exceed those required or expected for the position.
- Hybrid schedule: Office in New York, NY with 3 days in-office (Tues-Thurs) and 2 days remote (Mon & Fri) weekly.
- This position will be eligible to participate in the standard benefits offered to full-time employees of Allied Sports, including medical, dental, vision, short-term and long-term disability, and life insurance, and 401k. Allied Sports also offers an Unlimited Paid Time Off program, company paid holidays including a holiday winter break, and 16 weeks of paid maternity leave.
